Malia Luci and her day
Malia was blessed on Sunday, it was so great to have the family out. One of the things Wes said in the blessing was that she would be "a light to the world." She has already been a light to her family, her smile is contagious! (Although it was hard to get her to smile until the nylons came off at the end of the day!)

Two months and a birthday
Its already been two months and Malia is now 15 lbs, a little chub. The boys have grown more accustomed to her (too much so) and I have worn out the phrase, "be gentle" and now it's just, "don't touch her!" Morgan can't seem to get enough of her. He has called her so many names of endearment, to name a few: little peach, apricot, sunface, little solar system(?) cheeto, and at last, www.cutebaby.org. I don't think he has even called her by her real name yet.
We celebrated Carson's birthday at the Dinosaur Museum in March and got the behind the scenes tour of the lab in the back where I used to work. Grandma Julie made a volcano cake which actually oozed lava, much to Carson's surprise and hesitation. He requested to eat his favorite food, shrimp and salmon, then decided on octopus. (hot dogs worked in this case).
Easter at Gramma Ruths was fun until the bunny showed up and the boys hid under the table from it. I guess I would have too.
Morgan also got his first real taste of the ski resort this month and is already doing jumps.
Carson loves his baby sister and says to me, Mom this is my sister, isn't she adorable?" He says such random stuff. Like he climbs on top of his playhouse and puts his arms in the air and starts singing this song, (from No Handlebars) "Look at me, look at me, arms in the air like its good to be alive!" It is refreshing to hear little voices like these reminding me to enjoy the little things, because they won't be little for much longer.

We celebrated little Carson's birthday last week, and did his ultimate birthday wish, the dinosaur museum. Clark, a guy I worked with when doing the murals there, gave us the VIP tour of the lab where they do all the real work of cleaning the bones, reconstructing them and casting them. He then gave Carson and all his cousins a real dinosaur bone. Which really looks like a dark gray rock. After spending some time there we headed to Grandma Ruth's where we ate Carsons birthday food of choice that day, Octopus. (hot dogs with 'tentacles' cut out) and cupcakes.
He got a toy which he called Animal Kingdom which i had no problem getting him because of his great progress in the potty training area. He didn't have much choice, as I said, you are a big boynow and you will not be wearing diapers any more! Yes there were a few accidents, but he was a pro by the end of the week. The lollipop was for achieving a poop in the potty.
He was also privlidged to get a cake from Grandma Julie which was a dinosaur land with a real erupting volcano, very cool.!
Little Malia is doing well considering the endless attention from her brothers. Both boys are sick with a bad cough and it seems the only thing I say all day long is, "don't touch her!"
I feel bad because they just love her so, but jeez, give her some space! She is definetly has more than enough love here.
I am really starting to get cabin fever and would love to get out and go running or hiking. Post partum depression is wierd in that it's not that I am unhappy or ungrateful, but I will cry at the silliest of things, and I'm really not a cryer. Example: hallmark commercials, spilled cereal, any bad news, and even just plain nursing. Perhaps it's just coming down from such a spiritual high of being a part of a great miracle called child birth. Or maybe just screwball hormones. Either way I think it's finally wearing off.
Anyways, having a little girl in our home has been wonderful. Carson will say to me, "this is my baby sister, isn't she adorable?" When I have the baby monitor on and Morgan hears her crying, he will run downstairs and on the baby monitor I can hear him singing her a little song...Mostly ones he's learned from primary. He is also on a quest to make her laugh. Some of the things he does include, dancing, hitting himself in the head, dressing up in wigs and costumes, among other things.

Our little baby Malia Luci
We named her Malia after my middle name which is hawaiian and means calm and peaceful. Her middle name is Luci, which means light. She is indeed very peaceful and content.
Morgan and Carson are dear protectors of their new baby girl. As soon as they wake up, they run down to see her, anxious to hold her, retrieve her binky or sing a song to her. Wes is just swept away by her, holding her and kissing her little face off every chance he gets.
Someone said there is something extra special about little girls, and I would have to agree!

late holiday recap
It has also been a good experience to see Wes' brother Nick, who was in neuro critical care, recover so well. He had multiple brain infections and doctors weren't sure he would live. He was in a coma for a couple of weeks, and is now in rehabilitation and is walking again. He has been given another chance at life. It was interesting while in his coma, he drempt of attending his own funeral. I couldn't help but compare it to the movie "A christmas carol." Perhaps he was given a choice to change. Whatever the circumstance, we are glad he is still with us.
