oh the pain

There has yet been another reason to get the EMT training that I really need.
Morgan was running out the door and somehow managed to hit his thumb just right and the entire thumb nail came right off.  For being someone who isn't easily nauseated by the sight of blood, this one challenged my ability to keep my breakfast down.  I wrapped up his poor thumb, packed up the kids and headed to the doctor.  When the nurse took the towel off, Morgan took one look at it and lost his breakfast.  Once he found out he was getting an x-ray though, the color returned to his cheeks. He loves to get x-rays. He is very fascinated with the human body and the thought of seeing his own bones almost dulls the pain. (almost). While we were waiting for the doctor he said, " can't we just go up to heaven for a little bit and have Jesus heal it?"  He also said, "If I were Ironman, this never would have happened."
At the end of the day, he looked up at me and said, "I have had a very bad day.  I lost my thumb nail, I have a cold, I bit my tongue, and my shoelaces are untied. I'm gunna need one big ice cream cone."
Oh, how I miss the days when an ice cream cone extinguished all my problems too!

Poor Boy! You're a great Mom for taking care of it so fast. I probably would have lost my breakfast first!

You are right, somehow kids have the simple mentality that allows them to just let everything be okay when ice cream is involved. If only it were that simple.

Oh my gosh... I'm not sure if I wanted to laugh or cry! Poor little guy. That is so sad, but also very, very funny what he said! So cute! Icecream makes me feel better, too. (Then I feel guilty until I go run...But, it does work for a little while!)
