Fourth of July, 2012
Malia looking at the princess float!
We had a party planned for the fourth and our basement had a small flood just days before. Luckily we had some disaster clean up come and take care of it, but it's frustrating trying to throw a party with loud fans blowing! So we kept the party outside and Wes was nice to let me do a ride to the Towers atop Francis Peak in the morning to fill my cup. Nothing like a 4 hour ride to the top of the mountain to dissipate tension, I love it. I made it home just in time to take the kids to the parade. Morgan loves to go way out and caught candy and a water bottle. Malia loved the princess float (the miss kaysville crew) and Carson has no desire to catch candy and sits back with his chips and soda.
After we had the entire family over, Wes grilled the tastiest chicken ever- (I have yet to taste a better grilled chicken). We had games for all the grand kids, and Abbie brought some fun minute-to-win-it games. Dad had prizes, Jenn did a fantastic flag cake, and everyone contributed some wonderful foods! We also watched the story of the star spangled banner and had A LOT of contributed fireworks to blow off in the backyard. We can see a big portion of Davis High's fireworks from the yard so we watched those while the kids ran around with glow stick creations, Even Ruby had one around her neck so we could see where she was!
The funnest part was having everyone there. I remember my Grammy throwing some fun parties so I guess it's all in the name of continuing the legacy.

Swim lessons
First time on the diving board
Carson learning his dive
So after years of public swim lessons and going no where, I got the boys into private lessons and within a week they were jumping off the diving board and swimming to the edge. Thank you lindy the lifeguard swim instructor!
Pool Party at Gramma Ruth's
fun game where the kids had to dive for jewels then redeem them for prizes
carson always makes this pose when he puts on a hat.
money can't buy happiness, it comes out of a pinata.
This was just plain fun. We spent Memorial day here- Good food, lots of entertainment and the kids loved seeing their cousins. Good move mom. Sage and I won some squirt gun prizes in the water ballon toss. woop woop!
Summer Fun 2012
So when blogspot decided to change their whole format, any extra time it took me to re figure it out was just too much time. But I finally took a minute to do it.
Here's what we have been up to!
Weekend fun in Park City to get out of the heat.
Kayaking on Causey-great place, no boats allowed.
Lazy days at home creating projects
Swim Lessons! Movies with the cousins.
(I asked Malia who her favorite princess was and she said, Tony Stark!
Another one:
she stuck out her belly and said, do I have a five pack?
Carson has been doing a lot of climbing! Taking him to spider man only fueled his fire and he climbs anything he can find. (lamposts, indoor posts, etc.) So we took him to a climbing gym and let him go.
Met Mitt Romney at church, very impressed with his dedication to his faith and the way he makes you feel like the only one in the room. Hope he becomes the Prez!
Went on a hike and ran into one of Mitts outdoor parties. Log benches with fur pillows and blankets. So cool!
Carson watching the smoke filled sky from the distant fires
Hike through Deer Valley
Park City park
kayaking Causey Resevoir, no boats allowed!
in the flowers
Had to ride the "RUBY Express"
Tennis!
HIke through Snowbasin
